New Small Pipes
Welcome to Driftwoodpipes dot com. We sell pipes made out of natural driftwood. We hand select the driftwood from the shoreline and make a fully functional pipe out of it. Each pipe is completely unique. The type of wood, its history in the ocean and on shore, all make each piece one of a kind. These pieces of driftwood are painstakingly hand processed into lovely working pieces of art. PLEASE CLICK ON THE PAGES TO SEE WHAT WE HAVE.

This is an interesting piece of wood. It is actually a piece of branch from inside the trunk of the original tree. It is extremely dense wood. When we work on it, it is very fragrant and resinous. It is naturally light colored and sets with the bowl up on a flat surface. 5 1/2 inches long.

This type of driftwood is found every so often. It is naturally very smooth, and has a graceful, appealing shape. The tone is light brown and measures just over 6 inches. This nicely curved pipe is finished with a copper inset.

Here is another pipe which is hard to describe in words. Once again it is an unusual type of wood we come across only every so often. It is a big-grained wood, and comes not as a branch, but in big weird shaped chunks. It is not common for this type of wood to be suitable for pipes. This piece is even pushing the limits of what can be made into a pipe. As the picture shows, it has a sharp angle in it, where we decided to make the stem. This wood is very resinous and dense. It is very fragrant when we work on it. As other pipes of this spices, it has strong grain, which we nickname tiger stripe. 5 inches long.

Each pipe starts out as a raw piece of driftwood. Some wood is old and sun-bleached, others are waterlogged below the low tide line. Every piece has been shaped by a long history of natural growth, somehow entering the ocean, then the long process of becoming driftwood through the aging effects of surf and sand, wind, rain, and sun. During our hand woodwork, these features become pronounced with all sorts of shapes and colors more fully revealed in the beautiful finished pipe.
